Alicia Ward is an enthusiastic human who loves performing, teaching and promoting a passion for performance art.

When performing Alicia mainly chooses to perform tap dance for young audiences through her Colour Me Sad collaboration with Calgary musician Mandy Morris. She has also been seen performing most recently with Bach Tots and with Arts Commons at Itty Bitty Arts Day.

Her passion for growing the arts community in Calgary and fostering opportunities for artists, no matter how young, to develop a love for movement takes many forms. Throughout the year Alicia finds herself instructing Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Drama at various studios and schools. She also creates choreography for beginner and professional dancers.   In addition to being an educator Alicia works administratively for a number of education and arts focused companies including co-founding Triple Bill Weekends and co-founding the Young Adventurer Society.  Alicia is also the Co-Artistic Director and General Manager of Alberta Dance Theatre, a creative dance company that engages young dancers in a professional rehearsal process. Alicia dabbles in stage management but specializes in stepping in where needed. Her arts and administrative background has led her to volunteer as the Secretary for the Tri-Tone Rhythm Society Board of Directors, and the Volunteer Coordinator on the Create Kids Fest Board of Directors. She also assists with Dancing Parkinson's YYC on a weekly basis.

After graduating from the University of Calgary with a BFA in Drama with Distinction, Alicia spent a very informative year interning at Theatre Junction followed by two consecutive years in the Professional Training Program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.  She has undergone numerous dance exams with RAD and the ISTD, including taking her Associate exam in tap dance. Alicia is a lifelong learner constantly on the hunt for ways to expand her teaching, producing, and arts practice.
